AI Has Arrived in CX… But Where Do We Start?

Nano Thinking, a leading customer experience consultancy, reveals the 8 key insights transforming CX across some of Argentina’s most important companies.

The CX Morning Buenos Aires brought together customer experience leaders from leading companies across the country for an intimate and informal gathering. Organized by Nano Thinking and Scoops Xi, the event focused on direct conversation: coffee, pastries, and honest dialogue — with no presentations involved.

Throughout the morning, 8 key insights emerged around today’s CX challenges and the role artificial intelligence is playing (or not yet playing) in transforming customer experience.

Here are the main takeaways from this unfiltered conversation among professionals working on the front lines of customer experience in Argentina.

1️⃣ AI Is No Longer Innovation — It’s a Necessity… But Where Do We Begin?

The consensus was immediate and clear: everyone is talking about AI, but very few truly know how to apply it.

Many companies want AI to solve the most complex problems from day one — and that is exactly where they fail the most.

“We throw at AI the things that weigh us down the most,” one participant commented.

The key is to start simple:
automate repetitive and operational tasks first in order to free up time and energy to design truly valuable experiences.

2️⃣ Without Budget, There Is No Magic

One of the strongest moments of the event was the tension between corporate discourse and financial reality.

Talking about customer experience has become the new politically correct language, but as one participant put it:

“Without budget, there is no magic.”

Some companies are making serious investments in CX, while others simply claim it is important without allocating real resources behind it.

3️⃣ Customer Experience Is Still a Disconnected Puzzle

Lack of internal integration was another recurring topic:
teams that do not communicate, misaligned processes, and metrics that never reach the people actually interacting with customers.

“Customer experience belongs to everyone, but it still has no real owner.”

The challenge is for CX to stop being viewed as just another department and instead become a truly transversal process embedded throughout the organization.

4️⃣ From Seeing the Customer as an Interruption to Putting the Customer at the Center

Participants reflected on outdated practices.

For years, customer service and call centers often acted almost as barriers designed to keep customers away from the “core” of the company.

Today, the challenge is the exact opposite:
opening channels, integrating processes, and truly listening.

5️⃣ Data Is Useless If You Don’t Humanize It

Having data is no longer enough.

What matters now is transforming data into real conversations filled with tone, empathy, and context.

“Customers want to feel heard — not have a script read back to them.”

Shared examples demonstrated that something as simple as asking:

“How is your husband doing?”
can create more impact than extensive product training.

6️⃣ People Are Willing to Pay More to Be Treated Well

Can the value of a good experience actually be measured?

Yes.

Beyond NPS, participants discussed measuring everything from the cost of complaints to how much more customers are willing to pay simply to feel well treated.

“Experience is the only thing competitors cannot copy quickly.”

This idea became one of the strongest shared conclusions of the event.

7️⃣ Culture Changes More Slowly Than Technology

While AI can be implemented in a matter of months, changing organizational culture takes years.

Ideas discussed included:

  • rotating employees through customer-facing roles
  • having executives listen to live customer calls
  • or even CEOs spending time inside call centers handling complaints firsthand

Because real transformation only happens when leadership experiences customer reality directly.

8️⃣ If You Don’t Personalize, You Don’t Differentiate

In a world of hypercompetition and increasingly similar products, the real difference lies in authentic personalization — not superficial customization.

Understanding what customers want to feel and intentionally designing moments that create emotional connection is now one of the biggest challenges in CX.

We left the event with one clear certainty:

There is no magic formula.

But there is a growing CX community willing to share, challenge assumptions, and continue searching for better ways to design experiences.
