When a Commercial Process Works… but You Decide to Redesign It Anyway

Working with Thomson Reuters and its Tax Argentina commercial team has been one of the challenges we enjoy the most.

Not because the sales process was failing. The goals were being met.

The challenge was something else — and much more interesting:

👉 How much room for improvement exists in something that already works?
👉 What happens if we approach it with an innovation mindset instead of focusing only on performance?

Designing when everything is already working well is a strategic decision.

We started with a deep diagnostic and assessment of the current situation: interviews, analysis of sales speeches, and a holistic view of the customer journey.

Not to look for “mistakes,” but to uncover invisible opportunities hidden within everyday operations.

Then came the most powerful part 👇

We conducted an ideation workshop using Design Thinking methodology, bringing together teams from:
marketing, prospecting, sales, onboarding, and post-sales.

When you bring together every stakeholder involved in the service experience, something happens:

– hidden breakdowns emerge
– teams better understand each other’s decisions
– and most importantly, dozens of ideas appear — including several truly innovative ones capable of improving the entire journey

✨ Ideas that not only improve the experience for employees and customers, but also:

– simplify team workflows
– organize the commercial process
– align messaging, promise, and delivery
– open new ways of selling and building relationships

👉 Some key learnings that may help if you lead a commercial or service area:

🔹 Innovation does not always mean starting from scratch; sometimes it means redesigning what already works
🔹 Processes also need to be designed — not just measured
🔹 Innovation emerges when we look at the business as an end-to-end service
🔹 Ideating with diverse teams increases both the quality and feasibility of solutions
🔹 There is always a customer on the other side, even in internal processes

At Nano Thinking, this is how we work: combining service design, Design Thinking, and strategic business thinking to transform critical processes into real value enablers.

Because when you design well:

👉 the experience improves
👉 the process becomes clearer and more organized
👉 and innovation stops being just a concept and becomes action

Thank you for trusting us, and to the incredible team involved in making Thomson Reuters Argentina such a special company.
